Teens Unremorseful After Stealing From Girl Scout

Two teenaged girls, apparently children of some privilege, concocted and carried out a plan to rob a 9 year old Girl Scout of her cookie sales money.  The teenage pretended to be buying some cookies, and when the Scout put the collection envelope down to make change, the teen grabbed the money and jumped into the car driven by her accomplice.  This daring daylight robbery netted $167.00.

As you would suspect, these were not two of sharpest knives in the drawer.  They returned to the scene of the crime the next day and taunted the Scouts.  Of course, they were identified and eventually arrested by local police.

If that wasn’t bad enough,  these two future crack whores made on-camera statements to the media:

“We went through all that effort to get it, we got all these charges and we had to give the money back. I’m kind of pissed,” one of the girls told WPBF.

The other girl told WPBF that she was upset because police found them.”I’m not sorry, I’m just pissed that I got caught,” the girl said.

How did these two, who, judging from the car they drove and the clothes they wore, were not lacking resources, go so bad?  What sort of moral disconnect has to exist for these two to be able to even consider, let alone carry out, such a act, without any remorse?  This story cries out for some background reporting.  Then there’s the question of what to do about these two perps.  On one hand, they’re young, with apparently no criminal history and so some compassion might be in order.  On the other hand, they are obviously sociopaths, so strong and decisive punishment is required..  On the gripping hand, there’s obviously more to the story than just this theft.  In addition to the severe punishment that should be meted out (not just community service) these two need some intense therapy, or perhaps boot camp.  And under NO circumstances should they be allowed to breed.
